David
Jackson excelled in upper division furniture design,
then taught by Milo Baughman in the late 1980's. Later,
David apprenticed in Milo's studio building prototypes
and preparing furniture collections for production.
David and Milo became close friends over the years.
Milo was a brilliant modern furniture designer and
educator. He was very well known in the modern furniture
industry, and was inducted into ASFD's Furniture Designer's
Hall of Fame. Most people will remember him for his
Prisma, Ertel, and Biedermeier furniture collections,
and classic modern designs for Thayer Coggin. His designs
were selected for the Museum of Modern Art's Good Design
Program. Home Furnishings Daily referred to Milo as
the "merchandising wizard" and The New York
Times called him, "a man of unerring eye and skill." He
was a great educator and exponent of modern design.
He was a good friend! A wonderful mentor and contributed
a lifetime of hard work to the modern furniture industry. |
